Thanks for this Marc!

this solved the upgrading issue I was having as well. A note for future readers though, I had some php includes I'd cobbled into a theme, and this broke them.

That's why we test test test!!

Cheers!

Thanks for the tip Marc! I'm glad I can now do the automatic updates. I was getting tired doing it manually especially when WordPress gets updated on a frequent basis.

Awesome! Just tonight I wondered if there would ever be a new version of this program, and went to your website to investigate. Your generous upgrade policy is very appreciated.

I've plugged the program to members of my runner's group, and will do so again once 2.0 comes out. Keep up the great work.

I'm not sure I understand how an application bundle is any safer than an installer. As you mentioned, you can install any files you want when first starting the application. One could also request administrator privileges before to be able to do real damage to the user's machine.

Just be thankful you don't live in Australia, where bandwidth caps are the norm. A 20GB cap is seen as generous here and there is only one provider offering a truly unlimited service, for $300 a month.

This is a red herring. The problem is that users are running executable code without understanding it or having any (valid) reason for trusting it. Blind trust is the problem.
This program is asking for my admin password. Better enter it!
It doesn't make any difference how the application is packaged.

But I agree installers on OS X need to die.

Thanks for the comments on Runner's Log Hanmoro. I'll consider iCal export for a future version. Unfortunately as it stands right now I have a lot more ideas than I have free time for programming, but do keep checking back, more updates are coming.
